About Me, Laura Crossley
Hello, I'm Laura Crossley. My path to becoming a counsellor has been a deeply personal one, driven by a passion for helping others and my own transformative experiences with therapy.
My journey into counselling is rooted in personal experience and a genuine desire to help others. For years, I've been supporting people in various roles, including volunteer work as a Macmillan befriender.
My own positive experience with therapy inspired me to pursue this path professionally. Since qualifying, I've worked in diverse settings, supporting both adults and young people through life's challenges. This blend of personal insight and professional training allows me to offer empathetic and effective support to my clients.
My background is diverse, spanning various settings and age groups. Currently, I work in multiple roles that allow me to support a wide range of individuals. I provide therapy to adults and young people in an agency and I offer counselling in a college to both staff and students.
This variety in my work allows me to maintain a comprehensive perspective on the challenges faced by individuals across different life stages and environments. Whether supporting a teenager navigating school pressures, a college student balancing studies and personal growth, an educator managing workplace stress, or an adult dealing with life's complexities, I bring a wealth of experience to each unique situation.
As part of my commitment to providing the best possible care, I engage in regular continuing professional development (CPD) and receive ongoing supervision. This ensures that my practice remains current, ethical, and effective, allowing me to offer you the highest standard of support. I've completed additional training to offer therapeutic support via online platforms and telephone, ensuring I can meet your needs in various formats. I am also trained in LGBTQ+ awareness, reflecting my commitment to inclusive practice. Recently, I've completed a Level 2 Certificate in Self-harm and Suicide Prevention, further expanding my ability to support clients through critical mental health challenges.
Thank you for reaching out. Taking the first step towards counselling can be a big decision, and I'm here to support you through the process. Feel free to use the secure contact form to send me an email, or you can reach me on 07502473618.
