Counselling
I offer a free 15-minute introductory call or Zoom session. This gives us both a chance to get to know each other and see if we're a good fit. It's an opportunity for you to ask any questions you might have and for us to discuss your needs. We can use this time to determine if we'd like to work together and how I can best support you.
As an integrative counsellor, I draw from various therapeutic approaches to tailor my support to your unique needs. Think of it as having a toolbox full of different techniques – we'll use what works best for you. As part of my integrative approach, I may incorporate Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) techniques into our sessions. These methods help us explore the connections between your thoughts, feelings, and behaviours. However, CBT is just one tool in my therapeutic toolkit. I blend various approaches tailored to your unique needs, always ensuring that our work together is led by you. We'll focus on the areas where you feel you need the most support, using techniques that resonate with you and your personal goals.
Flexible Session Options
I offer counselling in person, online, or over the telephone. We can discuss which option suits you best and adjust as needed.
Issues I Can Help With
I work with a broad range of issues, including but not limited to:
Young people today face unique challenges, from academic pressures to social media influences. As a counsellor with extensive experience working with young people, I understand these issues and how to address them effectively.
My approach with young clients is all about meeting them at their level. I create a safe, non-judgemental space where they can express themselves freely. Unlike other adults in their lives, I'm not here to tell them what to do. Instead, I listen, understand, and help them navigate their world.
I know that young people often feel like they have little control over their lives. That's why I focus on building a strong connection with them. Even if they come into our first session feeling annoyed or resistant, I work to establish trust and rapport.
Our counselling relationship is confidential, which means the content of our sessions remains private between us, except in cases where there's a concern about safety. This confidentiality is an important part of creating a safe space for young people to express themselves freely. While parents aren't directly involved in our sessions, they play a crucial supportive role in their child's well-being. Our work together is built on a foundation of mutual respect and trust, aiming to foster open communication and understanding both within our sessions and in the young person's broader support network.
Thank you for reaching out. Taking the first step towards counselling can be a big decision, and I'm here to support you through the process. Feel free to use the secure contact form to send me an email, or you can reach me on 07502473618.
